A very warm welcome to Sparrows! Year 3 marks an exciting new chapter as children begin their journey into Key Stage 2, developing greater confidence, independence and responsibility for their learning and school day.

Throughout the year, our Sparrows will build upon the knowledge, skills and understanding developed in Year 2, embracing new challenges and deepening their learning across our broad and exciting curriculum. Through English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Computing, French, Art, Design & Technology, RE, PSHE, PE and Games, children will have opportunities to explore, investigate, create, question and discover.

The move into Key Stage 2 is a significant and exciting step, particularly as children progress from the continuous provision approach of Key Stage 1 to a more structured timetable and way of learning. We recognise that every child will experience this transition differently, so we sensitively and with great care support each child throughout this important stage of their journey. A carefully considered balance of carpet sessions, focused table work, practical activities and opportunities for discussion and collaboration provides familiarity alongside increasing independence, helping children to feel secure, confident and ready to flourish in Year 3.

Throughout everything we do, we encourage Sparrows to become confident, curious, resilient and reflective learners, who show kindness, celebrate one another and take pride in their achievements.
