In their final year at St Paul’s, our Y6 pupils develop into students we can proudly send to their next level of learning. After an early 11+ is behind them, the pupils work hard towards their KS2 SATs, but the year is also full of interesting subjects to study, backed up by trips such as visits to the Royal Academy of Arts and the Houses of Parliament.
The children develop their sense of responsibility throughout the year, taking on a variety of duties to help the school run smoothly, including Class Monitors, standing for House Captains, playing an important part in the School Council and running clubs for the younger children.
Important events in the Y6 calendar include; Mini-Enterprise when the pupils run businesses in small groups together, the residential trip to Preston Montford Field Studies Centre and of course the Musical Production in the summer term.
By the time Y6 have led their Leaver’s Service, they are prepared and ready as learners and young people to move onto their new schools.

Those who attended the drug awareness evening at school on Thursday 22nd June found it both engaging and moving.
The speaker, Elizabeth Burton-Phillips MBE, founded the Wycombe-based charity DrugFam following the loss of her son to addiction.
The charity supports families affected by drug and alcohol addition. For more information visit http://drugfam.co.uk
