What our year looks like...

Welcome to the Year 5 section of our school website. In Year 5, we have many different and exciting topics for every subject. In English, we read books by a wide range of authors, including Janina Ramirez and Jess Butterworth. We also learn to write in a variety of different styles, from stories to persuasive letters and diary entries, as well as creating our own poems.

In Geography, we learn about sustaining the Rainforests, Scandinavia and volcanoes and earthquakes, which link beautifully to or history topics - The Maya and Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. There are some great Art/Design and Technology topics in Year 5, including biscuits, mechanical toys and 3D volcano art.

We perform in a number of class assemblies throughout the school year, as well as performing in choir in the Summer Production. We enjoy playing a variety of traditional sports, such as a cricket, handball, and tag rugby.
