  • iSingPOP Performance at Union Chapel, Islington - January 2022

    Tue 07 Feb 2023

Years 5 & 6 enjoyed a unique and memorable experience when they performed at the iconic Union Chapel in London. Singing in front of the Archbishop of York and the Secretary of State for Education, the children belted out a selection of iSingPOP classics. St Paul’s were asked to perform on behalf of the Christian charity at the National Church of England Headteachers’ Conference. We are very proud of each and every one of them.

The team at iSingPOP sent high praise and gratitude for such a wonderful performance:

“I just wanted to email to say a huge thank you once again to St Paul's for everything. The feedback that we have had from the CEFEL conference has been amazing. Several people, including Andy Wolfe (Church of England Executive Director of Education), have said how blown away they were by how the children behaved - especially during the keynote speakers who were definitely not talking about things interesting to them! I was sitting with the children for the whole thing and their behaviour was immaculate. The reception the children got after performing was the most rousing applause of the whole morning! They were truly incredible and everyone from iSingPOP who was there wanted to pass on how they thought you should all be so, so proud of them. They were a huge credit to you and to the school, and you must please tell them how much they impressed everyone.

We are so grateful to you and the school for everything you have done to support us, and it has been so wonderful for me personally to have been on the journey of the last few years with you.

Sending all our best wishes from iSingPOP HQ,

    Sandy"

  • Wycombe Food Hub - Thank You

    Tue 07 Feb 2023

After donating proceeds of our Christmas events to the Wycombe Food Hub, we received a lovely thank you note:

Good afternoon.  This short note is to thank you and the pupils at St. Paul’s School for the very kind and generous donation of £410, for the purchase of groceries.  Your gift will help ensure that those facing food insecurity in our community do not go hungry.

    Yours sincerely

  • Y2 Florence Nightingale Day - November 2022

    Tue 07 Feb 2023

Year 2 enjoyed a fabulous day of learning about Florence Nightingale with the help of parents, grandparents and carers of children in Year 2.  The children dressed up as nurses, soldiers from the Crimean war, Florence Nightingale and other characters from the Victorian era.  They learnt surgery skills, the development of nursing, hospital hygiene (including real maggots!), first aid skills and cooked and ate broth.  The children also made three collages of Florence Nightingale through the ages from a child to an older woman and went home with their wonderful homemade Florence Nightingale lamp.  They interviewed our own Florence Nightingale and accompanied her inspecting the work in the surgery and the skills of the trainee nurses.  A large amount of children left school with various bandages still attached to their limbs!  A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers, the parents who helped with their children’s outfits and the Year 2 staff for their hard work.ork.

  • Year 6 Ambassadors

    Tue 07 Feb 2023

We were very proud of four representatives of Year 6 who offered to come back to school one evening to speak to prospective parents at our Information Evening. With no preparation or ‘steer’, they answered questions with enthusiasm and eloquence, perfectly summarising the experience of being a pupil at St Paul’s. It was a privilege to listen to them and the parents were hugely impressed. Thank you to the children and their parents for taking the time to come back to school that evening.

  • Voices Christmas singing in Wooburn - December 2022

Voices, the school’s choir, sang at the Wooburn Christmas Lights event. They were the brilliant and even received a grateful message from the organisers after:

Thank you so much for bringing your choir, they were fabulous. I hope they enjoyed performing as much as everyone loved listening to them.

The children were all so polite and confident, a real credit to you, the school and their parents.

So thank you again on behalf of the Wooburn Residents Association."on.”

  • Sponsored Read and Book Fair News - Autumn 2022

    Tue 07 Feb 2023

We were blown away by the support for the Sponsored Reading Event and Book Fair held in October. Thank you to everyone who joined in reading over the half term holiday and for taking time to visit the Book Fair or make an order online. Lisa Colley, our Usborne representative, had a very busy book fair and said it was her most successful school event ever!

Well done to our competition winners from KS1 and KS2 who read for the greatest number of minutes. These children will be able to choose an Usborne book from our catalogue as their well-earned prize.

Combining the money from our sponsored reading event and the Book Fair, we have just under £2000 to spend on books for school which is fantastic. We are currently in the process of collating an initial order and cannot wait for the books to arrive!
